Henry ‘Hank’ D. D’Arcy, 61

Troy Henry ‘Hank’ D. D’Arcy, 61,of Round Lake, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at his residence.

Born in Albany, he was the son of the late James K. D’Arcy Sr. and Maria (Sharkey) D’Arcy.

He had resided in Rensselaer for 10 years, in Troy most of his life and was a graduate of the Troy High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

He was an idea man and owned, operated or consulted on many businesses including: Tri City Coffee, Coffee Man, Big ‘M’ Diner, The Pizza Shop, Sycaway Subs, Hill Top Bake Shop, Z Best Subs, Congress Street News, Coffee Time, Hanks Franks, Happy Jacks, Supreme Subs, Roma Pizza, Country Drive-In, Country Subs, Kings Inn, The Miss Port Henry Diner, Chubby’s Drive-In, 9 & 146 Subs and Chubby Subs, to name a few.

He was founder and president of the Twiddlers Club of America and placed second in the 1963 National Plymouth Troubleshooting Contest.

He is survived by his daughter, Deanna D’Arcy of Round Lake; two brothers, James K. D’Arcy Jr. (Gail) of Schenectady and Wayne P. D’Arcy (Kate) of Troy; a sister, Betsy (Peter) Hobart of Troy; 6 nephews, 2 nieces and several cousins.
