Obituary of Henry Everett Frost
FROST, Henry “Hank” Everett, Jr. of Freeland, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Stone Crest Assisted Living in Freeland. He was 89 years old. Henry E. Frost, Jr. was born on August 14, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Henry E., Sr. and Bertha E. (Hunt) Frost. He married Virginia M. Link on July 20, 1946; she preceded him in death on August 28, 1969. Henry “Hank” later married Alberta J. Bogardus on June 12, 1970; she survives him.
He graduated from Midland Senior High School, Class of 1942. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 3, 1942. His training included Aerial Mines, Bomb Reconnaissance School, Parachute School, and Demolition School. During his service, he was a Demolition Specialist. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was the sole survivor of a jeep explosion from a land mine.
Following his honorable discharge, Henry “Hank” began to work for Michigan Bell PBX Installer; retiring after 32 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. Retiring at age 54, he enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Surviving besides his wife, Alberta, are two daughters and a son from his late wife, Virginia: Vicki (William) Lear of Punta Gorda, FL, Valerie Sharkey of Tucson, AZ, and Steve (Terry) Frost of Freeland; five step-children; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Donald Frost.
