Henry E. “Eddie” Jones, Jr., 80, of Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Sunday, December 11, 2016.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Venar Callahan Jones, who survives and the son of Henry E. Jones, Sr. and Betty Bailey Jones, both deceased. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and formerly employed with AMP, Inc. He was a volunteer fireman at the Elon and E. M. Holt Fire Departments. Eddie was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alamance.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two children, James R. “Ronnie” Jones of Hillsborough and Ginger Jones Sword and husband Brian of Burlington; two grandchildren, SPC Jessica Brooke Sword of the U. S. Army, Fort Hood, TX and Krystal Callahan Sword of Burlington; sister, Peggy Jones Ward and husband Lynn of Gibsonville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
