Henry “Dutch” M. Duncan, 85 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014. He was born on January 8, 1929, in Centralia, the son of Arson Duncan and Susan (Donoho) Duncan.
He married Betty (Bender) Duncan and she preceded him in death in 1992. Mr.
Duncan is survived by a son, Steve Duncan, and wife Tammy of Moore, Okla.; a granddaughter, Tracy Roberts of Salem; a grandson, Cody Duncan of Moore, Okla.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Roberts and Mackencie Roberts of Salem; a brother, Delmas Duncan of Centralia; a sister, Polly David of Oklahoma City, Okla.; caretaker and special friend, Vivian Boozer of Centralia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Betty Duncan, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas Duncan; a brother, Edgar Duncan; and two sisters, Bessie Flanigan and Hessie Short. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Douglas Duncan, a brother, Edgar Duncan, and two sisters: Bessie Flanigan and Hessie Short.
Henry served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Illinois Central from 1943 to 1969 and was an Iron Worker from 1963 to 1991. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering with his model trains and tracks. He also loved going to Hardees and having his morning coffee with his friends. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
