Henry Doran “Hank” Pressinell, 65, of Elkhart, a retired Norfolk-Southern engineer, went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday (Feb. 4, 2011).

He was born in Mountain City, Tenn., on June 16, 1945. Hank was married to his beloved wife, Gena (Shin) Pressinell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guy G. Pressinell; his mother, Josie; and a brother, Clarence William “Bill” Pressinell. He is survived by his siblings, Arthur, Neil, Norma and Glenn; and his five children, Becky (Louis) Slate of Bristol, Tenn., Patricia (Major Keith) Alfeiri of Reno, Nev., Jeffery (Kristel) Pressinell of Elkhart, Theresa Pressinell of Elkhart and Cynthia Pressinell of Elkhart; and three stepdaughters, Susan (Joe) Albert, Jennifer (Sean) Ruffner and Lycia Choi. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Hank was known to many for his dedication to the Lord, compassion to help people, independent spirit and driven personality. He was quick to laugh and enjoyed taking the time to get to know people. Hank enjoyed being busy; he loved projects, singing, golfing, fishing and spreading the word of Christ. Hank was a proud volunteer and served his community by delivering meals, missioning to the prisoners at Elkhart County Jail and serving his church, Zion Missionary Church, Elkhart.
