Henrietta “Jackie” Colgan, 99, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday November 24, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Terra Haute, IN.
Jackie was born June 24, 1915 in Fleming County to the late Henry and Georgia Newdigate.
Jackie loved her family and friends, her church and her home in Flemingsburg. You would often see her with her friends Martha, Susie and Helen on the go around town. She raised violets, quilted, and loved to fish. She was a great fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and followed Louisville ball too. “Be There” was her battle cry. She was known to her many grand and great grandchildren as Maw Jack. Jackie was a long time member of the St Charles Catholic Church and was retired from Fleming County Meat Packing Company.
Jackie is survived by her daughters Mary Jane (Phil) Dice of Terra Haute, IN and Carol Jean (Robert) Leonard of Vandalia, OH.; grandchildren Keith Dice, Mona Woollen, Vickie (Rick) Fair, Linda (Michael) Brettl, Rob (Sonya) Leonard, and Missy (Jeff) Seslar; great grandchildren John Woollen, Daniel Woollen, Michael Drake, Marissa Brettl, Hannah Brettl, Gavin Leonard, Annie Leonard, Julia Leonard, Claire Leonard, Stella Sesler, Kate Seslar and Henry Seslar; great great grandchildren Aron and Aric Drake.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Colgan, sisters Mary Schwartz, Anna Kochler and Ellen Hamm and her parents.
