Born November 7, 1924 in Miami, AZ, Helensue (Owen) Kinsey headed to California in the early 1940’s where she graduated Hoover High School in San Diego then acquired training as a bookkeeper.  She was employed with Jessop’s Jewelers, Gary Gilmore Jewelers, and Town & Country Fashions (Coronado) to name a few.  Helensue met her future husband, Gayne B. Kinsey at the Hotel Del Coronado where they fell in love and married in March of 1950.  She was always the ‘bell of the ball’, as she loved to dance and was the epitome of Hospitality!  She wore many hats to many people; Sister, Wife, mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, Aunt, great grandmother and friend…and never tired of her responsibilities.

Each 4th of July holiday, Helensue housed & hosted the extended Kinsey Family from as far away as Anchorage, Alaska and made it a Tradition for over 45 years.  Those of you who knew her, knew this Matriarch always had an open door to family & friends. When any of her family needed a place to stay, Helensue made sure they were taken care of.  She loved Family!

Helensue will be remembered by many as the lovely woman who was always smiling and waving, greeting all on their way to the beach on the corner of Isabella Avenue with her little dog by her side.

She was preceeded in death in November, 1983 by her loving husband, Gayne B. Kinsey.  Helensue is survived by her two children, Nancy Spratt (Roger) and Gayne Reed Kinsey (Donna); her grandchildren; Ryan Spratt, Kristen Chidley (Dan), Reed Gayne Kinsey and Raymond Kinsey and her great grandchildren Jay, Thea and Asa Chidley.

In her memory Helensue’s love of animals can be honored in supporting PAWS of Coronado.  .
