Helene (Eleni) Loucopoulos, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022 with her children at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Constantine Loucopoulos.
Helene was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and was very proud of her nationality. She met her beloved husband in her early twenties and they were married in 1959. Together they raised three children, during which time Helene worked as a bookkeeper at a law firm.
Helene and her husband retired in Athens, Greece where they lived for 15 years. After her husband passed away in 2010, Helene emigrated to the United States, sharing her time between New York and Connecticut to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Helene loved her family and took great joy in all the holidays that brought everyone together. She would often tell jokes at the dinner table and recount funny childhood stories to her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, dancing, listening to music, and watching the Patriots win.
She also enjoyed participating in the events at St. Barbara Church, Orange, CT, including assisting at the yogurt booth during the Odyssey Festival and attending the Golden Years luncheons with her friends, and participating in the Philoptochos functions at the Holy Trinity Church, New Rochelle, NY.
All who knew her will miss her lively personality and charisma.
Helene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Marios Damianides; son and daughter-in-law, John and Fofy Loucopoulos; grandchildren Andreas, Rachel, Eleni, David, Georgia and Costa; sister, Theodora Houlis; nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Costas and Anna Grivas; her husband, Constantine Loucopoulos; and her beloved daughter, Magdalene Radu.
