Helena M. Klopfer Logsdon, 96, of Meredosia, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Barton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville.
She was born July 8, 1912, in Verdel, NE, the daughter of Robert Lee and Minnie Mary Kyriss Mock. She married Arthur Ernest Klopfer on July 11, 1928 in Cheyenne, WY, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1976. She later married Sidney Logsdon and he also preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Ernest Edward (Jean) Klopfer, Lois Mae (Darold) VanHyning, Bonnie Lee Sullinger and Francis Keith (Martha) Klopfer, all of Meredosia; thirteen grandchildren, Judy (Mike) Boston, Tina Klopfer, Karen (Rex) Kleinlein, Gerald (Lisa) Klopfer, Kathy (Bruce) Hernbroth, Bruce (Angie) VanHyning, Julie (Khoy) Sturtevant, Robin Sullinger, Tammy (Eric) Wilson, Tony (Darla) Sullinger, Ronny Sullinger, Ritchard (Paula) Klopfer, and Amie (Frank) Hicks; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Sollman of Hood River, OR. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Arthur and Richard LeRoy Klopfer; three grandsons, Robert Eugene Klopfer (surviving wife, Iris), Michael Klopfer and Dennis Edward Klopfer (surviving wife, Tina): three brothers, George Mock, Peter Lange and Fred Mock; and two daughters-in-law, Theresa (Mrs. Ernest) Klopfer and Florecia (Mrs. Robert) Klopfer.
Mrs. Logsdon had been a cook at the Meredosia schools for many years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Chambersburg Christian Church and a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program. She enjoyed gardening, and flowers, and she especially loved her family.
