Helen M. (Ward) Welch Wolfgang, age 95½, of Greensburg, PA, formerly of Salem, Sebring, Ohio and Winter Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 3:52 a.m., with her daughter by her side, at Oak Hill Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Butler Township, Columbiana County, Ohio on May 25, 1922 to Clarence P. and Rena (Bacon) Ward. Helen graduated from Salem High School in 1940. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Cardinal Plumbing and Heating Company in Sebring, Ohio, Friends Bookstore in Salem, Ohio and the Christian Book Store in Winter Haven, Florida. She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in Beloit, Ohio and was a member of Salem 334 Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Wolfgang on August 15, 2006, whom she married on December 7, 1946. She is survived by their three children and their spouses, Jane Wolfgang (Thomas) Yarnell of Greensburg, PA, William R. (Cathy) Wolfgang of Beloit, and Joel R. Wolfgang of Palm Springs, CA. Additionally, she is survived by a brother-in-law, David Wolfgang and her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Michael (Anna) Lesch, Julie (Chris) Muir, Philip (Kristi) Tullis, Eric (Heather) Tullis, Kylie (Nome) Baker, Amy (Paul) Amendola and BJ (Elizabeth) Wolfgang and is a great grandmother to 14.

Helen was also preceded in death by her first husband, P.F.C. William H. Welch, who was killed on December 19, 1944 in the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and their daughter, Marilyn Louis (Welch) Lesch, who passed away on March 28, 1983, as well as her brothers, Donald A. Ward and Robert F. Ward.
