Helen Theresa (Zuchora) Wagner, 98, of Peru, passed away March 23, 2013 at her home.

Mrs. Wagner was born March 22, 1915 in LaSalle to Casimir and Mary (Pyrz) Zuchora. She married Victor W. Wagner on May 4, 1940 at St. Hyacinth’s Church in LaSalle. Mrs. Wagner was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Peru where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and volunteered 20 years at the Underseller Resale Shop. She had been employed at Westclox and for 23 years as a waitress at Duffy’s Cigar Store. She volunteered for the Red Cross and Peoples Hospital. She also enjoyed working as an election judge.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Wagner of Pueblo, CO, Jane Roby of Peru and Karen (Merlyn) Rauh of St. Charles; one son, Joseph Wagner of Peru; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Emily Turczyn of Peru, Theresa (David) Zielinski of Joliet and Clara (Don) Menne of Charlotte, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor on April 22, 1986; four sisters, Josephine Brucki, Mary Szymski, Pearl Dauck and Irene Muilenburg and her brother, Floyd Zuchora.
