Helen M. Stephenson, 90, of Sawyer, Michigan died Monday morning, January 12, 2009. Helen was born May 28, 1918 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Koffel. She graduated from Galien High School.
On November 11, 1961 she married Frank L. Stephenson in Galien, Michigan. Helen was employed as a clerk at the Bridgman Hardware Store and played the piano for the Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Galien for many years. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing cards.
Survivors include her sons Larry (Sue Anne) Keefer, of Otsego, Michigan; and Robert Keefer (Lynne DeMorrow) of Three Oaks, Michigan; grandchildren, Matthew, Scott, Meridith, Kelly and Karen; 7 great grandchildren, step son, Kevin (Susie) Stephenson of Brimley, Michigan and daughter-in-law, Linda Keefer of Stevensville, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and by her son, James Keefer.
