Helen Rudek Cyr, 92, a lifetime resident of Newington, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, May 30, 2015 with her family at her side. Born on September 14, 1922, Helen was the daughter of the late John and Victoria (Kuzera) Rudek. She was a graduate of Newington High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Royal Typewriter and later as a secretary at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Newington. Helen loved people and people loved Helen. She was a very generous, giving and positive person. Her love of babies and children led her to become actively involved with Birthright International and CT Right to Life, attending and hosting state meetings. In her leisure time, she enjoyed golfing, gardening and crafts.
