Helen L. Robson, age 94 of Stockton, IL went to be with her Lord on May 14, 2014. She was born August 29, 1919 in rural Stockton to Lew Wallace and Geraldine (Rhodes) Trost. She graduated from Stockton High School in 1937. On August 29, 1938 she married Ralph R. Miller in Decorah, IA. On July 3, 1961 she married John W. Robson in Dubuque, IA.
During her lifetime, besides being a homemaker, she was employed as an office worker at Atwood Vacuum Machine Company in Stockton, and later worked at Western States Insurance Company, and Crum and Foster Insurance in Freeport. She retired from Crum and Foster on May 1, 1980. Helen led a rich retirement and was able to express her kindness to friends and neighbors by sharing her love of gardening, canning, and cookie & pie baking.
Family traditions included anticipating her “pies of perfection.” Cake decorating added a source of pride to her accomplishments. Her favorite summer pastime was a weekend camping trip. Her greatest blessing was a loving family, cherishing visits from all of her grandchildren.
In previous years, Helen served as a Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout den mother, and as president of the Morseville Church Board.Helen was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Lena. On May 16, 1981, she rededicated her life to Christ.
Survivors include her three children from her first marriage: her daughter, Carol (Richard) Frey of Mt. Carroll, IL; two sons, George (Vee) Miller of Surprise, AZ and Gary (Tami) Miller of Fort Collins, CO; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; an infant daughter, Judith Elaine by her first marriage; and four sisters, Mae Otte, Pauline Hill, Jean Marie Stoffett, and Wilma Wolfrom.
