Helen Olene Popwell, age 88 of Birmingham, AL passed away on September 21, 2012. She was a member of Deerfoot Baptist Church. She was an Auxiliary Member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. She was survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Paul Popwell; children, Jerry P. Popwell (Sandra), Judy Knight (Gary), and Mary Ann Hancock; sisters, Mary Sue Popwell and Betty J. Greene; brothers, James Shaneyfelt and Franklin Shaneyfelt; grandchildren, James M. Popwell, Tiffany L. Cook, Ashely D. Thimaras, Joel N. Knight, Heath I. Seelbinder, Patric I. Seelbinder, and Lance V. Seelbinder; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Deerfoot Baptist Church.
