Helen Patricia Graham, known lovingly as “Push” or “Auntie Push,” passed away on June 29, 2023. Born on March 10, 1952, in Harlem, to Roseanna Graham and Carlton Moses Guy. Helen left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Helen was a vibrant soul who hailed from Queens, New York, and spent memorable summers in her mother’s birthplace, Bolton, North Carolina. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel, most notably to Europe, and her spunky personality earned her the affectionate nickname “Pushie” or “Push”.

She was an educated and ambitious woman, completing her high school education in Queens before moving back to Harlem to earn her BA in Media Studies from Fordham University and completed the documentation toward her Master’s with Audrey Cohen College, now MCNY School of Public Affairs & Administration (SPAA). She found professional fulfillment in a variety of industries, including insurance, media, law, and, in her later years, serving as a writer and contributor for organizations such as AARP.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Helen’s passions included writing and sewing, interests that added a unique touch to her vibrant life. She is remembered for her tenacity, wit, and the love she had for her family and community.

Helen’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Roseanna Graham and Carlton Moses Guy. And, her eldest sister Rose Carlette Graham and brothers Carlos and Kenneth Guy.

May Auntie Push’s life be a reminder of the importance of perseverance, community, and loving kindness. She will be deeply missed.
