Helen Thomas Marshall, 95, of Walden Green, Branford, formerly of Waterford, died peacefully June 28, 2006 in Norwich. She was the widow of James R. Marshall Jr. Mrs. Marshall was born in New Haven Sept. 3, 1910, daughter of the late John J. and Marianna Petrillo Thomas. She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School, New Haven Normal School and Eastern Conn. State Univ. She was a member of the group of school teachers who were instrumental in making kindergarten an integral part of the school system. She taught at West Side, Montville Center & Uncasville Schools in Montville and Jordan & Cohanzie Schools in Waterford.
