Helen Marie Strawberry, 86, of Philadephia, PA died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Chestnut Hill Hospital. Born on April 19, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Washington.
She was raised in Caroline County and attended the public school system.
She worked in a restaurant for a period of time while living in Maryland. Upon moving to Philadelphia, she worked as a domestic worker until she retired.
She was married to the late Arthur R Strawberry. She is survived by a daughter and son, Linda Lake (Federalsburg, MD) and Arthur Strawberry (Philadephia, PA). Three grandchildren Veronica Brown and husband Keith Brown, Carl Lake, Chadwick Lake; three great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was born into a large family of 14 siblings, and survived by three sisters, Louise Dangerfield and Emma McGlotten of Hurlock, Maryland and Margaret Baker of New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
