Helen Maldonado Moreno, 85 a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 10th, 2018 in Safford, Arizona. She was born August 2nd, 1932 in Gila, NM to Leopoldo and Manuela Maldonado.

Our mother was a strong and hard worker but most of all a “cheerleader” She will always be remembered for watching her grandchildren play sports such as basketball, softball, and baseball. She especially stayed up many late hours watching her Diamondbacks on TV and also watching all the NFL football games. She was well-known for her cooking especially her “tamales”. She loved to garden and her yard was always amazing. Our mom was unique in everything that she did. She loved all her grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, and her godchildren. Being the eldest of 8 children, she always took the responsibility for loving and helping her siblings. Mom loved to dance and listen to music. She will be deeply missed but our love for her will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her children. Two sons Joe Moreno (wife-Lynnita), Mike Moreno (companion- Julia), two daughters Rose Aguilar (husband-Ted) and Mary Louise Marquez (husband-David), two brothers Cecario (wife-Mary), Jesus (wife-Helen) Maldonado, and one sister Mary Ann Montoya from Ponca City, Oklahoma.
