Helen Magyar Pavoni, age 94, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Enrico Pavoni, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2017, with her loving family by her side. Helen, the youngest child born to the late Gabriel and Julia Magyar, was raised and educated in Bridgeport, Connecticut. To help support her family during the Great Depression, Helen began working at the Bead and Chain Manufacturing Company and would remain employed there for eighteen years. It was during this time that she met and later married (1941) the love of her life, Enrico Pavoni. Helen and Enrico eventually settled in Fairfield, Connecticut, where they would spend many happy years living, laughing, and loving each other and their growing family. Blessed with 71 years together, four children, and eleven grandchildren, Helen and Enrico shared an amazing journey! Helen will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, whose memory will be cherished forever. During her lifetime, Helen was known for her amazing cooking and baking skills. From traditional Hungarian and Italian specialties to homemade cookies, pies, and cakes, eating a meal at Helen’s table was always a memorable occasion. In addition to being an accomplished culinarian, Helen was equally adept at homemaking and motherhood. She effortlessly juggled the duties of running a large household while raising four active children – and made it all look easy. Through the way that Helen lived her life each and every day, she instilled the values of hard work, responsibility, honesty, kindness, and gratitude into her children. Her gentle nature and willingness to help others made everyone who met her feel cared about and loved, especially her family. Helen poured her whole heart and soul into her family. It was her life’s work and her greatest joy. She was devoted and proud of each and every member of her family. Mrs. Pavoni is survived by her four children: Gary Pavoni and his wife, Teresa, of Maryland; Karen Pavoni Louie and her husband, Christopher, of Bridgeport; Bruce Pavoni and his wife, Patricia, of Fairfield; and Cynthia Pavoni Fino and her husband, John, of Weston; and eleven remarkable grandchildren – Sebastian, Lorenzo, and Emilio Pavoni; Katherine and Christopher Louie; Daniel, Julia, Carly, and Robert Pavoni; and Samantha and Nicholas Fino. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends. The Pavoni family would also like to acknowledge the compassionate care given to Helen during the last five years of her life by her devoted caretaker and friend, Anna.
