Helen M. Waterstradt, 99, of Freeport, died Monday, October 23, 2006, at Parkview Home. Born March 14, 1907 in Otsego, Michigan she was the daughter of Edwin and Alice (Hazell) Norton.
She married Paul “Scotty” Waterstradt January 29, 1925 and he died May 26, 1979.Helen worked at Newell Companies for 45 ½ years and then part time at their company store for nine years. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and their Women’s Guild, Eastern Star, and White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Helen was endeared to her many friends because she always was willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She was the last surviving member of her family.
Surviving is her adopted family, Sharon (Wendel) Kurth, Brenda (Steve) Purple, Jeffrey Purple, and Jacquelyn Purple all of Pearl City.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
