Helen M. (Luhta) Baxter, 86, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Northbridge after a period of declining health. Her husband of 61 years, Walter Baxter, died in 2004.

She leaves one daughter, Patricia Wood and her husband Russell of Upton; a son, John Baxter and his wife Mary of Oxford; three granddaughters, Heather Walsh and her husband Steve of Upton, Lauren Baxter of Worcester, and Elizabeth Baxter of Acton; and two great-granddaughters, Cora and Caitlin Walsh of Upton. She was also the sister of the late Impi Luhta, Eino Luhta, and Lillian Limoli.
