Together Again Helen M. Bass, age 87, of Salem, formerly of Barberton, died at 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Assumption Village in North Lima. She was born April 12, 1926 in Barberton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Shorts) Sutter. She was a graduate of Barberton High School and before her retirement, she had worked at the former Barberton Citizens Hospital as an inhalation therapist for 35 years. She had lived 85½ years in Barberton and for the past couple of years she lived in Salem. Helen was a member of the St. Augustine Church in Barberton and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and loved the Lord. She loved to dance and help people. Her husband, Richard A. Bass, whom she married October 3, 1943, preceded her in death May 26, 2002. Two sisters and six brothers also preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Richard M. (Mary) Bass of Salem, 3 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
