Helen Lucille (Carpenter) Davenport passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at her home in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She was born in Fleming County Kentucky on November 6, 1918.
She is survived by a daughter, Loretta McAlpine and her husband, Richard of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Lucille had a number of grandchildren including Arden McAlpine, Ardith Stetz and Randy McAlpine, the children of Loretta and Richard; Robbie, David, Kevin and recently deceased Brian, sons of Leslie Davenport. She is also survived by her close friends Megan, Jim and Kelsey Coppetti.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Lloyd Davenport in 2007 after 70 years of marriage, her son Leslie and wife, Cindy, in 2009 of Bushnell Florida and 5 sisters, Edyth Smith and husband, “Smitty” of Tennessee, Elizabeth Vernon and husband, Lee, of Dayton, Ohio, Verona DeMonge and husband, Jack, of Milford, Ohio, Audrey Haag of Cincinnati, Ohio and Bernice Porter and husband, Lawrence “Cookie”, of Foxport, Kentucky.
Lucille was raised in the Flemingsburg, Kentucky area and lived there with her husband, Lloyd until late 1966 when their work assignment moved them to Bushnell, Florida. They lived in Bushnell working at several vocations and enjoying retirement until her husband passed away at age 92 in October of 2007. Shortly after her health began to fail and in 2011 she came to live with her daughter, Loretta, in Pennsylvania.
