Helen Louise McElhaney, 93, Huntington, IN died at 12:38 p.m. on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Helen McElhaney was born in Huntington, IN on July 26, 1916 to Vintry L. and Lulu M. (Hamilton) Weaver. Her parents preceded her in death.She married Donald A. McElhaney on August 21, 1935 at Winona Lake, IN.
He preceded her in death on September 6, 2007. Mrs. McElhaney was employed at Lime City Manufacturing as a secretary for 17 years. She retired in 1978. Helen was a 68 year member of Evangelical United Methodist Church and was a charter member Neta Eta Chi Bunco Club. She was a 1934 Huntington High Graduate and she attended Huntington College. Survivors include: one son: Thomas A. (Janice) McElhaney, Huntington, IN., three grandchildren: Douglas A. (Jeana) McElhaney, Michael T. McElhaney, and Barbara J. (John) Young, all of Huntington, eight great-grandchildren Lindsay, Carley, Andrew and Mitchell McElhaney, Jack, Brant, Ross and Quinn Young.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: John Steven McElhaney and one infant brother.
