Helen Louise Fargo of Bluffs was called to her eternal home on Oct. 4, 2008. She was born on Aug. 7, 1915, to Henry and Marie Meier Ellerman. She was the last member of her immediate family and her confirmation class of 1929.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Bluffs where she married Russell Fargo on Nov. 14, 1934. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1996, after 61 years of marriage.
Her surviving children are Yvonne (Van) McCullough of Jacksonville, Burl (Thelma) Fargo of Bluffs, Betty (Karmy) Schone of Chapin, and Ruth (Jim) Craig of Waverly. There are nine grandchildren, along with step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Devlin, two sisters, Marie Littig and Clara Middendorf, and one brother, Paul Ellerman. Mrs. Fargo worked at Passavant Area Hospital for 10 years and 6 years as a cook at the Bluffs school, retiring in 1976.
