Helen Litton, 81
Helen G. “Marker” Litton was born December 10, 1929 in Norwood, Iowa to Clinton Buford and Grace Irene “Keen” Marker. Helen passed away at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines on September 6, 2011 at the age of 81.
Helen went to Country School a year or two, and then to Norwood School. Because Helen’s Mother died when she was 5 years old, her sister, Ardis, helped raise her. When Helen was in High School, she went to live with her Aunt Maude in Chariton. Helen graduated from Chariton High School in 1947. Following Graduation, Helen worked at the Phone Company in Chariton.
On September 3, 1949, Helen was united in marriage to Everett Litton in Centerville, Iowa.
To this union 3 children were born: Eileen of Des Moines, Iowa, and twin sons, who died in infancy. Helen was a country girl at heart who loved the simple things in life. She was soft spoken and full of patience and kindness. She was always on call to lend a helping hand to her husband on the farm.
Helen was preceded in death by her Father, Clint Marker, Mother, Grace Marker, Brothers Don Marker, Ralph Marker, and Herbert Marker, and Twin infant sons.
Helen is survived by husband Everett Litton of Chariton, Iowa; daughter Eileen of Des Moines, Iowa; sister Ardis Arnold of Clio, Iowa;
2 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
