Helen Lucille Markle Mitcheltree, 93, of 2712 West Fourth St. Williamsport, went to be with her Lord on Feb. 2, 2011 in her home of 64 years.
Born February 19, 1917 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of Perry and Gladys Huyck Markle.
She was a 1934 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a former of Newberry United Methodist Church and currently a member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church for over 80 years. Helen was a charter member of Newberry Lioness Club for 26 years, and served various positions as a director, greeter, and member of the social committee, she also received The Lions of Pennsylvania Award. She was an avid Penn State Fan. Helen loved shopping, rose bushes, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Gerald L. Mitcheltree, Sr. on Feb.28, 1998, and two brothers Jack and Robert Markle.
Surviving are two sons Gerald L. Mitcheltree, Jr. and wife Bonnie of Jersey Shore and Jack R. Mitcheltree and wife Susan of Flemington, NJ, 12 grandchildren Craig Mitcheltree, Kevin Mitcheltree, Heather Mitcheltree, Heidi (Sean) Mitcheltree, Allen (Caryn) Mitcheltree, Eric (Andrea) Mitcheltree, Jeffery Micheltree, Christine Mitcheltree, Christopher Micheltree, Patricia Mitcheltree, Lorrie (Dan) Maxwell, Shiela Smith, eight great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
