Helen “Jerry” L. (Barrett) Johnston, 85, of Anderson, passed on to her new life on September 10, 2014, at her residence. She was born on November 25, 1928, in Elwood, Indiana, and resided most of her life in Anderson.
She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Hills Snappy Service, Kroger, and LowCost Prescription Services. She enjoyed doing ceramics, sewing, and being with her family. She touched the lives of all she met.
Jerry is survived by her children, Cindy (Chris) Baker, Sandy (John) DeHaan, Anita (Allen) Atkinson, Martha Borders, Michael Johnston, grandchildren, Lynette Brummett, Jenna Workman, Cory Atkinson, Kelly (Jamie) Huffman, Annette (Tim) Gray, Angela (Blake) Kirby, Christina (Bryan) Rudd, Krystal Johnston, 17 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a husband whom she married on Jan. 29, 1966, John Douglas Johnston, mother, Minnie M. (Mitchell) Barrett, father, Otho Barrett, siblings, Jerry Barrett, Bud Barrett, Dallas Barrett, Leona Kurtz, Winifred Benefield, son-in-law, Jim Borders, and grandson-in-law, David Brummett.
