Helen Louise (Calbetzor) Gallay, 94, of Elkhart, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born in Fort Wayne on November 15, 1925 to the late Harry and Edna Calbetzor.

She is preceded in death by parents and by her loving husband, Robert A. Gallay, who passed away on September 27, 2011.
Helen was a strong and independent woman who worked as a nurse at Turtle Creek for many years. She worked at Ramada Inn as a cook and housekeeper for a few years and worked in various Inn’s in the Elkhart County area. She was a member of Clark Memorial Psychic Church in Elkhart for over 50 years and was a board member there as well. Helen loved playing card games with her family, especially the game Aggravation. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, coloring in adult coloring books, reading, watching classic television shows (The Golden Girls was one of her favorites), raising her many plants, and collecting angels and stuffed animals. Helen was a big Notre Dame fan and could usually be seen cheering on her team whenever she had the chance to watch them play on the TV. She will be missed greatly by her loving family.
