Helen M. Kowalczyk, 89, of New Britain, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Eugene A. Kowalczyk for 70 years. She was a lifelong resident on New Britain and a member of Sacred Heart Church and its Ladies Guild. Helen enjoyed summers at the beach at Point of Woods, South Lyme. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves her sons Eugene F. Kowalczyk of South Windsor, and Gregory A. Kowalczyk and his wife Barbara of Daytona Beach, FL, her two grandchildren Michael Kowalczyk and his wife Rebecca, Teri Ann Farley and her husband Shawn, all of South Windsor, and five great grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Kaitlyn, James and Megan. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Karol Kowalczyk, her brothers, Walek, John, Edward, Stanley and Peter Kurpiewski and her sister Mary Katz.
