Helen K. Warne, 98, passed away June 25, 2014 at Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village, DeMotte, Ind. Helen had lived at Oak Grove Village for the past eight years, formerly living in Rensselaer and Fair Oaks. She was born in Rensselaer on April 10, 1916, the daughter of John and Jessie (Lakin) Shide. Helen graduated from Fair Oaks High School with the Class of 1933. She was a member of the Virgie Christian Church and was a homemaker.
On November 2, 1934, in Rensselaer, Helen married Lyle Warne. Helen and Lyle enjoyed 71 years of marriage before his death on January 6, 2006. Surviving are her loving family, Daughter, Carol (Norman) Weldon, Amelia Island, Fla., Son, Roger (Janet) Warne, Morocco, Ind., and Son, Lyle J. Warne, Morocco, Ind., 6 Grandchildren, Tom Weldon, Cynthia (Mike) Dodson, Bradley Warne, Bill Warne, Bryan Warne and Kimberly (Kevin) Durham; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law Lou Warne on April 27, 2009, and three sisters.
