Helen Harper, 45, of Boise, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13th, at home after a six-year battle with Carcinoid cancer.
Helen was born on July 8th,1965 to Colin and Valerie Freeman. She grew up in Stroud, a small rural town in Gloucestershire, England. On October 19th,1985, she married Martin Harper.
Helen enjoyed many things in her life; she was an accomplished pianist, a Registered Nurse and Midwife but her overwhelming joy were her children. Helen gave freely of herself to others both as a professional and in her private life. She truly was a fiercely caring person.
In April, 2000 Martin, Helen and their young family arrived in the United States on temporary assignment for Hewlett Packard. Their original expectation was to stay nine months, but the move became permanent shortly after arrival.
The family wishes to personally recognize Dr. Rodney Pommier at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, whose compassionate care and case management was so greatly appreciated. Also, those at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, Washington, especially Barbara Goff and all the staff at MSTI.
Helen is survived by her husband Martin; two sons, Joe and Connor and daughter Caitlin of Boise, Idaho; her mother and father, Valerie and Colin of Stroud, England; brother Mark Freeman and his wife Michelle of Brighton, England; sister Alison and her husband Neil also of Stroud, England. She leaves nieces and nephews Riley, Lachlan, Tor, Tia, Matthew and Sherren.
