Helen Beatrice Jackson (Myers) Matthews, 93, of Hawthorne, passed from this life on Monday, April 12, 2021, at her home following an extended illness after a fall. She was a native of High Splint, KY, and had lived in Hawthorne since 1984 coming from Pompano Beach. Helen was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Interlachen and was affectionately known as the “Piano Lady.” She played piano for various churches from South to North Florida. Helen was a devout Bible student, taught Sunday school, and loved going to church.

Helen is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward “Ched” Myers, her parents, Luther and Paralee Jackson, daughter, Sandra Lee Brown Spikes, sister, Lorene Gambrel Brunnell, and brother, Lawrence “Soney” Jackson.

Helen is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bennie F. Matthews, son, David Myers (Martha) of Ft. McCoy, daughters, Diana Myers (Dave) Spence of Pompano Beach and Brenda Kulikowski of Hawthorne, brother, Howard “Bud” (Jewell) Jackson of Ft. McCoy, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren as well as 4 great-great-grandchildren.
