Ms. Helen Hattie Taylor, daughter of the late Charlie Taylor and Vertie Taylor was born July 5, 1917 in Simpson, WV, and died December 17, 2016 in Grafton, WV at the age of 99.
Helen attended Hanging Rock School in Philippi, WV, through the 8th grade and then went to work at the age of 13. She held various jobs and finally retired from WV Plastics in Grafton, WV in the early 1990’s.
Helen was a member of the Warren United Methodist Church where she served as the treasurer until 2014. At other times she was President of the Trustees and President of the United Methodist Women. In 2015 she was honored with the Flame of Faith Award, and in 1997 she was given the Distinguished Lay Member award. Helen will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature.
Helen is predeceased by her brother Herman Taylor, her daughter Leona (died at birth), her son Donald William Taylor (surviving wife Erika), her daughter Linda Christine Cox (surviving husband Raymond), and her grandson Keith Allen Taylor (surviving wife Susan).
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her surviving children, Wanda E. Taylor and Patricia Ann Wilson (husband Theodore), her grandchildren Dr. Kimberly R. Jackson, Donald William Taylor, Jr. (wife Peggy), Karla Renne Leary (husband Mark), Stephen Erik Taylor (wife Alejandra), and Kristopher Ray Cox, and her great grandchildren Shennay Alexandria Jackson, Jordan Nicole Taylor, Kali Allyn Taylor, Brittney Nicole Taylor, Kendell Isaiah Leary, Kaitlin Christine Taylor, Jackson Taylor, and Daniella Taylor.
