On August 12, 2006, Helen Galloway Becker passed away at her home in Linthicum at the age of 102. Devoted wife of the late Charles Stiles Becker for 25 years; Beloved mother of Robert “Bob” G. Becker of Arnold; Loving sister of the late Mary Crieger, Betty Hawkinson and Bruce Galloway; Cherished grandmother of 3 and great-grandmother of 2. Helen worked in accounting for the Pennsylvania Railroad, Old Madison and Benjamin Franklin Partners. She also volunteered during the war at Campbells Soup. During the war Helen also made socks, gloves, scarves and kept a Victory Garden. She also donated 2 gallons of blood during the war and truly did what she could to serve her country. Helen was instrumental in the Womens’ Suffrage Movement and also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. Channel 11 News did a story on Helen when she turned 100 years of age.
