Helen F. (Banko) Samolinski, 101, of Denver, CO, formerly of Peru, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at home. Mrs. Samolinski was born June 27, 1916, in Oglesby to Matthew and Antoinette (Popish) Banko.

She married Alphonse Castellari in 1946 and he died in 1958. She later married Edward F. Samolinski in 1983, and he preceded her in death, passing away in 2011.  She had one son, Gene Castellari, who died in 2013. Mrs. Samolinski worked at Westclox in Peru and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru, a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Oglesby Elks, and KAKJ.

Survivors include many dear nieces and nephews and their families. Two step-children, James (Judy) Samolinski of Tamaroa and Linda (Pete) Reviglio of Spring Valley; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Castellari; grandchildren, Stephen Castellari, Aaron Castellari, Andrea Fitzgerald, Bob Samolinski, Juliann, Amy, and Pete Reviglio and numerous step-great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; her son; four sisters, Albeana Gulaska, Nellie Hancock, Marie Sodac, and Rose Faletti, and five brothers, Matthew, Anthony, and Joseph Banko and Edward and William Muhich.
