Helen E. “Betty” LaPorte

Norwich-Helen E. “Betty” (Santo) LaPorte, 94, beloved wife of Emile A. LaPorte, of White Plains Rd, died Sunday evening at Hartford Hospital. Born in Wethersfield on September 24, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Helen M. Bushnell.
Mrs. LaPorte lived most of her life in the Norwich and Baltic areas after moving here from Wethersfield in 1925. On January 26, 1946 she was united in marriage to Emile LaPorte.
Helen worked as a payroll clerk in the office of the Brooklyn Cooperage Company for fifteen years. She also worked for her husband’s business Allied Plumbing, Heating, and Electrical Company for thirty-four years.
