Helen E. Houston, 93, of Fountain Hill, died Thursday, July 9, 2009, in Cedarbrook Fountain Hill Annex. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Houston, who died in 1960. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lydia (Papp) Vogel. Before retiring, Helen was employed for many years by the Bethlehem Steel as a waitress in the main dining room. She was a member of the former St. John Capistrano Catholic Church. She was an avid bingo player. She was a loving grandmother who adored her granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Survivors: She will be sadly missed by her son Joseph E. and his wife Barbara of Allentown; brother Edward Vogel; granddaughter Tara and her husband Richard Szy and great-granddaughter Emily Ann Szy all of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by her son William J. who died in Vietnam in 1968, sister Charlotte Busick and brothers Joseph and Emmanuel.
