Helen E. Vickery, 96 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa passed away peacefully Monday, April 6th, 2015 at the Woodlands of the Meth-Wick care facility.

Helen was born January 21, 1919 in East Moline, Illinois, the daughter of James W. Holder and Charlotte Brega. She married Austin G Vickery April 13, 1941 he preceded her in death. For many years they owned a photographic studio in Freeport where Helen served as the colorist. Helen was also the secretary to the school supervisors in the Freeport public school system. Upon moving to Indianapolis Helen became church secretary for Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church for twenty years. Helen was also a member of First Presbyterian church in Freeport and PEO chapter BE.

Survivors include her daughter Betsy (Gary) Wagner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; son Mark (Mary Jo) Vickery of Plainfield, Indiana; sister Dorothy Johnson of North Henderson, Illinois; six grandchildren Sarah Kilburg, Stacy Potter, Kelli Marlatt, Amanda Sievertson, Erin Toothman and Collin Vickery; eight great grandchildren Sydney, Whitney, Campbell, Jacob, Ellie, Keagan, Reid and Olivier and many nieces and nephews. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Austin and her brother H. Randolph Holder.
