Helen E. Fischer, 91, a longtime resident of Ortley Beach, NJ until Superstorm Sandy, passed away at home at her residence in Silver Ridge Park, Berkeley Twp, NJ on Sunday, December 22, 2013.
Born in New York City, she lived in Guttenburg, NJ before moving to Ortley Beach in 1960. Helen was a secretary at the New York State Probation Department in New York City for many years. She served in the US Marine Corp. during WWII and was stationed at the Pentagon during that time.
Helen supported and devoted much of her time to many Veteran and American Indian Charities. Surviving are her 2 sons Cliff of Florida and Roy of Toms River.
