Norwich – Helen E. (Crough) Brown, 89, formerly of Will Road died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the Bride Brook Healthcare Center in Niantic.
Helen was born in Ilion, New York on December 26, 1924 daughter of the late John and Helen (Murphy) Crough. Mrs. Brown graduated from the St. Joseph School of Nursing in New York. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Uncas on the Thames Hospital for many years.
On February 14, 1953 she was united in marriage to Cornelius Brown at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Norwich. Mr. Brown predeceased his wife in 1975.
Mrs. Brown was a communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and also belonged to the Catholic Nurses Association.
Helen is survived by two sons and their wives, Cornelius and Donna Brown, and John Brown and Julianne Free all of Norwich, a daughter- in- law, Sue Brown of North Stonington, and six grandchildren, Amanda, Molly, Christopher, Casey, Hanna and Cathleen. In addition to her husband, mother and father. Helen was predeceased by a son, Thomas Brown, who died November 13, 2000, a brother, Kieran Crough, three sisters, Mary Fagan, Julia Seymour and Theresa Warner.
