Helen E. Gilley Cornelius, 89, Anderson, passed away September 9, 2009 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born November 25, 1919 in Washington, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of her life. Helen retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors. She was a member of the First Friends Church and a 50 plus year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son, Duane L. Cornelius Rebecca of Indian Spring, Alabama; daughter-in-law, Judy Cornelius of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Michelle Wilmoth, Troy Cornelius Stephanie, Tim Cornelius Joan and Jennifer Garr Erik; great grandchildren, Kriston McDonough Torrey, Courtney Kirsch, Brandon Barrigan, Makayla & Presley Cornelius, Andrea & Bryan Cornelius and Katharine Sara Garr; great great grandchildren, Isaiah, Drew, Uriah and Izzabelle; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband whom she married December 3, 1938, Donald W. Cornelius; daughter, Nancy & husband Tom Bangle; son, David Cornelius and parents, Oliver & Mamie Osmon Gilley.
