Helen, born January 23, 1930, was the daughter of Richard Vernon (Valentine) Barry and Elizabeth T. (Lyons) Barry of Chariton, IA.
She graduated from the University of NE-Lincoln with a Business Degree, and owned and operated Dalton Land Company, a farm and ranch management and agricultural appraisal firm with her husband, T. Robert Dalton, who preceded her in death January 9, 2003.
Helen loved travel and adventure and was always up for a challenge.
At the age of 51 she became a licensed pilot and served as Public Affairs Officer for the Nebraska Wing of the Civil Air Patrol.
In her 60’s she became a flight attendant for America West Airlines and at the age of 78 on a trip to Costa Rica, she flew down a jungle zipline, much to the delight of her children. Helen also excelled at creative pursuits including the design and creation of a special wedding dress, taught tailoring classes, was a 4-H leader, member of Sigma Kappa, a licensed Broker in Nebraska, Arizona and Texas and in her spare time she liked to bake cookies.
