Helen D. Perrine, of Viera, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Viera Del Mar. She had a great passion for life and she was an inspiration to us all. She lived her 95 years to the fullest with charm, grace, kindness and style and will be remembered with love and fondness by her family and the many people whose lives she touched.  “May the work I’ve done speak for me.”

Helen was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey where she was raised by loving Catholic Polish parents.  She was the baby of the family with three older brothers.  Her education began with a strong Catholic upbringing attending Saint Hedwigs Catholic School, Battin High School, an all-girls Catholic School in Elizabeth, NJ.  Helen spent four years at Saint Elizabeth College in Convent Station, NJ.  She graduated with a BS degree in Chemistry in 1946.  In the summer of her Freshman year, she worked as “Rosy the Riveter” and the other summers she worked as a lab assistant.  After graduating she met the love her life, Walton Perrine while working for the Texas Company in Beacon, NY.  They had a short courtship and married in February of 1950.

She was off to explore the world with her husband Walt and supported him throughout his 32-year career as an officer in the USAF.  They had six children which lead to 13 Grandchildren and 23+ Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild to date.

Helen moved to Brevard County in July of 1993 from Homestead, FL to live in IRCC in Viera. They arrived after rebuilding their home which was damaged in Hurricane Andrew.  She has been a legal resident since 1956.
