Helen C. Killian, 90, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at IU Arnett Hospital. She was born June 29, 1926, in Lafayette to the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Eberle Michalke. On May 17, 1947, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette, she married Edward Killian and he preceded her in death in 2006.
Helen graduated from St. Francis High School in Lafayette. After high school, she worked at the Telephone Company for seven years in the bookkeeping department. Later she worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in the Business Office and Payroll Department for 26 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, bingo and watching the Cubs and Purdue Basketball. Helen and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels for seven years after retirement and received the Community Volunteer Award.
Surviving are her sons Mark Killian of Lafayette, Steven Killian (wife Joan) of Louisville, KY. Also surviving are two grandsons, four granddaughters, three step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Lucero and a sister Mabel Trimble.
