Helen Byron Clark, 90, of Flemingsburg, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Crystal Care of Coal Grove in Ironton, OH.

Born on May 16, 1927, in Augusta, KY, she was the daughter of the late John and Nola Carpenter Byron.

Helen started her career at “Fried’s On the Corner”.  After its closing, she worked at the Men’s Shop, The Pine Needle, Pauline’s Sportswear and then with Licking Valley Community Action Program where she finished her working career as an ombudsman.  She remained active as a volunteer with the Senior Citizen Center in Flemingsburg until incapacitated with Alzheimer’s.  She was a Kentucky Colonel and an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Helen is survived by and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances Lippert Gelter, Virginia Thomas, Lucille Davis, John “Jack” Byron, and Jimmy C. Byron.
