Helen Basel Faraclas, 89, of Branford, passed away peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital on December 7, surrounded by her family. She was born in New Haven on June 10, 1926, to the late William and Antiope Basel. She married her one and only sweetheart, George Nicholas Faraclas, with whom she spent 65 loving years of marriage, characterized by faith, family, charity, and laughter. She will be remembered for energy and kindness that were boundless and for her warm, perpetual smile.
Helen leaves her daughter, Anne, of Branford, son William (Kara), of Southbury, and son Paul (Jacqueline), of North Branford; six grandchildren, Elias (Erin), Christian (Christine), Farah, Azer, Allison and Kristen; great-grandsons, Tristan and Devin; siblings Louis Basel of Derby, Florence Barakis of Branford and Edward (Lillian) Basel of East Haven; and in-laws Helen and John Karanzias, Marion and Fred Scimone and Pearl Faraclas. She was predeceased by husband George, in-laws Marie Basel and Stanley Barakis.
