Helen A. Skowron, age 92, died Saturday morning August 10, 2013 at the Salem Community Hospital. She was born April 3, 1921 in Salem, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Maroscher) Lowry. Helen was a 1939 Graduate of Salem High School. She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and the Salem Saxon Lodge Branch #18. Mrs. Skowron was a secretary for both the Columbiana County Coroner’s office for 15 years, and for the Salem Medical Doctors for 25 years. One of her hobbies was gardening. Her husband Carl Skowron, whom she married October 4, 1941, preceded her in death June 1, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Pasco and two brothers, William and Cliff Lowry. Survivors include a son, David Skowron of Salem, two daughters Nancy (Robert) Hinchliffe of Alliance and Amy (William) Kolozsi of Salem; five grandchildren, Paula, Brian, and Matthew Hinchliffe and Audrey and Ben Kolozsi; and three great- grandchildren, Carlyn, Maxine, and Eli Hinchliffe.
