Helen A. Rickerman, 99, of Galien, Michigan died Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Galien. Mrs. Rickerman was born May 14, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Dora (Hafley) Watt. She earned her Bachelor Degree from Western Michigan University. On October 12, 1940 she married the love of her life, Elwood “Al” Rickerman, in Chicago.
The Rickerman’s made their home in Galien where Mrs. Rickerman taught 2rd and 3rd grade for the Galien Public Schools for 15 years. She was a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Galien and was a member of the church’s choir and Sonja Circle. Mrs. Rickerman was a passionate woman who loved cats, teaching, singing, eating out, flowers, and listening to music.
She cherished her family, and her son, Pat, who was the center of her universe. She is survived by her son, Pat Rickerman of Galien. Mr. Rickerman preceded her in death on September 15, 1990. She missed him deeply and also missed her sister Dora (Watt) Clark.
